Madrid prepares to welcome the Year of the Dragon

For the ninth consecutive year, the splendid city of Madrid is transformed into a stage where Chinese culture comes to life. To commemorate the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, which will take place on Saturday, February 10, the city council has prepared a very interesting program of activities. Spring Market

The Spring Market will take place on February 9, 10 and 11. The Plaza Junta Municipal del Distrito de Usera will become the epicenter of the crafts and gastronomy of this fascinating country. There is no better plan than getting lost among the different stands contemplating all kinds of crafts and products. You will also have the opportunity to see exhibitions of traditional painting or see live the art of Chinese calligraphy.

Chinese New Year Festival

As we mentioned, the Year of the Dragon will officially begin on Saturday, February 10. To commemorate it, a great celebration with music by DJ Yang awaits you at the Pradolongo Park from 6 to 8:15 pm. The party will end with a great fireworks display.

Chinese New Year Grand Parade

More than a thousand artists, live music, dances, traditional costumes and three imposing dragons will take to the streets of Madrid’s Chinatown. It will be on Sunday, February 11, from 12 to 15 hours. Three hours of spectacle, emotion and color for the whole family to enjoy. The tour will start at Marcelo Usera Street and will extend to Rafaela Ybarra Avenue.

China Taste Festival

Do you want to get to know Chinese gastronomy first hand? In that case, take advantage of the China Taste festival. On the occasion of the New Year, 17 restaurants in the capital will offer a special menu with the most typical dishes of these dates. Spring Race
