Tecnoaprendo

This month in Palma de Mallorca, a series of workshops focused on children and youth are organized. We would like to highlight that Tecnoaprendo is a creative technology academy based in the city, becoming a reference for families who want their children to engage more with technology, but always in an educational way.

Activities on the 23rd, 24th, 27th, and 30th of December, as well as the 2nd and 3rd of January, include games with ChatGPT, Minecraft, Lego Wedo, and Code Spark, among many others, all with a Christmas theme.

This is an excellent opportunity to leave your children while you enjoy the architecture of Palma de Mallorca.

The workshops run from 09:00 to 14:00 at Tecnoaprendo: Pare Cerdà Street, No. 16. We recommend buying your tickets as soon as possible, as spaces are limited.

“El Casta”

Agustín “El Casta” is a staple of Christmas in Palma de Mallorca due to his performances filled with humour and comedy.

This comedian has a unique and local style as he addresses current topics affecting the island’s residents in all his performances. He is also known for creating fictional characters during the event, a detail that helps him dynamically connect with the audience.

From 25th December to 1st January (except for the 31st), you can enjoy this show at the Auditorium de Palma. Ticket prices vary depending on the seating location.

Christmas

Christmas in Palma de Mallorca transforms the city into a magical place with its grand street lights, bustling crowds shopping, and the atmosphere of wonder in every corner.

Here’s a brief rundown of activities you can enjoy in Palma de Mallorca this December for Christmas:

  • Christmas Markets. The most popular are the Nadal i Reis Fair and the special edition Rata Market.
  • Nativity Scenes. Across the city, you can find nativity scenes that are true works of art, such as those at Cort, the Council of Mallorca, or the Barceló Foundation.
  • New Year’s Eve. Spending New Year’s Eve in Palma will make it an unforgettable night. Choose from the numerous discos and pubs in the centre, dine at a hotel, or simply enjoy the grapes at Cort Square.

Banner Festival

On the 30th and 31st of December, the Banner Festival is celebrated in the city. It historically commemorates the entry of Christians into the Arab capital of the Kingdom of Mallorca.

The afternoon of the 30th is more institutional with the proclamation marking the start of this festival. This is followed by a song to the Virgin of Health at San Miguel Church. To conclude, there is an offering in the centre, near our lockers in Palma de Mallorca – Plaza de España.

On the 31st, the events revolve around the banner itself. It is placed in the middle of the square, and the facade of Palma City Hall is adorned with red decorations featuring the city’s coat of arms. Finally, a procession heads to the Cathedral with all the city’s administrative, political, and religious authorities. The mass performed at the Cathedral is dynamic, as regional dances are showcased.

At LOCK & enjoy! we recommend that you attend these events, as they are among the most important expressions of Mallorcan folklore.

Camela Concert

On the 13th of December, one of the nation’s most famous musical groups, Camela, will perform at the Auditorium de Palma.

This concert is part of their tour “Camela. 30 years with you”. It has been a great success at various concerts they have organised across the country. Are you going to miss it?
