Tira’m els Trastos
It translates into Spanish as: Tírame los trastos. It is organized by various neighborhood associations with the aim of promoting recycling and responsible consumption.
It is located in the Plaza Pau Casals, more specifically in the neighborhood of Santa Catalina. It is a flea market with more than 50 stalls with all kinds of second-hand products at very good prices. It is a great opportunity if you are a lover of the vintage and retro. In addition, there are foodtrucks and music to liven up the shopping.
It is held on the last Saturday of each month from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Night fair of the tomàtiga of ramellet
Just 35 minutes by car from the city of Palma, one of the most important fairs of the island is organized, more specifically in the municipality of Maria de la Salut.
It is held on the second Friday evening of August. It is a small fair with numerous stalls with local handicrafts and local foods. All this accompanied by very good music and with areas for dining.
The most striking thing is that there are live demonstrations of how to prepare and string the tomatoes of the bouquet type, as it has been cultivated on the island since the sixteenth century.
Sagrera Craft Market
From May 1 to September 30 this market is held, located on the Paseo de Sagrera, from 19:00 to 00:30 hours. This location is very close to the Cathedral of the Sea and the Lonja, symbols of Mallorcan architecture.
In this place there are artisans and artists of all kinds in which you can see authentic works of art such as paintings, photographs, bags, belts, wooden objects, etc.. Melon Fair
To visit this fair, you must go to the town of Vilafranca de Bonany, just 30 minutes drive from the capital. For us, LOCK & enjoy! is one of the most fun and dynamic.
It lasts a whole weekend and its program is full of activities for all audiences:
- In the evenings there is a flea market to buy gastronomic products, including melon and local art objects.
- Join the melon eating competitions! Who eats it the fastest, who eats it the most, etc.
- On Saturday a “correfoc” is organized, followed by numerous local music groups in the town square.
- And finally, on Sunday, another competition is held to award a prize for the largest and best quality melon.
Market of Wonders
It is another of the temporary markets that you can also visit in August and only at night (20:00 – 24:00 hours). It is located just 2 minutes from the Arenal beach.
It is focused on more select customers or those who like luxury or shopping a little more special. It sells necklaces, bracelets, precious stones and, in addition, the famous Majorica pearls. Majorica pearls.
However, over the years they have opened new stalls offering natural soaps and articles for everyday use, but always from a perspective of originality and exclusivity.
The people who serve in this market are characterized by a very specialized attention, as well as an excellent customer service.
Sant Llorenç night fair
The municipality of Sant Llorenç is further away from the city, about 45 minutes by car, however, its ecological fair is very worthwhile. This year it is held on August 10 and is the XXVIII edition. It is located in an old train station.
The starting time is at 8:00 p.m., at which time all the stalls are already set up with their corresponding products. There will also be an exhibition of historical material from the old railroad.
During the fair there are brass bands, live music and concerts. Also, there are food stalls with tapas proposed by the restaurants of the municipality, as well as the famous foodtrucks.
If you are left wanting more, you can go to the popular verbena held at midnight in the town hall square in honor of the festivities of the municipality.
Artisan Market of l’Hort del Rei
This market is one of the most emblematic of Palma de Mallorca, since its existence dates back to 10 years ago. The reason is that its products are 100% handmade, that is to say, the same manufacturer sells them on the spot without intermediaries.
