The city of Málaga is renowned for its rich gastronomy, architecture, and culture. However, at LOCK & enjoy! we love it because it boasts numerous charming spots that are perfect for couples. Come discover the most romantic spots of Malaga!

If you’re spending the day and aren’t sure where to store your luggage, we have lockers in Málaga. It’s the most convenient and hassle-free way to explore the city.

Málaga’s Most Romantic Places

Here are some spots we recommend for spending a day with your special someone.

Romantic Dinners

It’s a common choice, but a fail-safe way to celebrate special occasions. Málaga has many restaurants to surprise your partner. Here are a couple of examples:

  • Refectorium El Campanario. One of the city’s most famous restaurants due to its stunning views, as featured in all major dining guides. It has been open since 1972 and is celebrated for its cooking with natural ingredients.
  • Candado Beach. Located in the sports harbour, it’s an idyllic spot for a memorable romantic evening. Its menu focuses on authentic Andalusian roots and is very reasonably priced, between 25 to 30 euros per person.

Lookouts

Lookouts are perfect spots for a relaxing time with your life partner, and maybe even for making that special proposal.

First, we’d like to highlight the one located on Mount San Antón, near the El Palo neighbourhood. From here, you can see the “Tetas de Málaga” and even as far as Fuengirola or the beaches of Pedregalejo, including Málaga itself.

If you’re spending the weekend in Málaga, at LOCK & enjoy! we recommend heading up to the Gibralfaro lookout. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes as it involves climbing many stairs, but it’s well worth it. It’s one of the most popular spots for those seeking a unique date.

In the centre of Málaga is the cathedral. Its rooftop offers one of the most spectacular views in the area. For 10 euros, you can go up at night to see the city’s lights and shadows, while daytime access costs 6 euros.

Consider visiting the lookouts we’ve mentioned at LOCK & enjoy! at sunset or sunrise to make your date perfect. And remember, book a locker with us if you’re moving around.

Hammam Al Ándalus Arab Baths

Visiting the Arab baths in Málaga is a perfect option if you’re celebrating an anniversary with your partner.

Located in the centre of Málaga, this peaceful spa is surrounded by exquisite Arab architecture and is ideal for an afternoon of relaxation. Additionally, it offers a wide range of services:

  • Relaxing massages with exotic natural foam purification and the option to include hot stones.
  • An in-house restaurant that offers an endless array of Arab cuisine flavours.
  • A variety of organic cosmetic products available for purchase.

Kiss Me!

For us, it’s our favourite spot. We encourage you to go with your favourite person to surprise them and to take a photo that we’re sure you’ll love.

Head to the Hard Rock Café located at Muelle Uno. There, you’ll find a bright yellow neon sign that reads “Kiss Me.”

Dare to win over your crush with this beautiful message!

Sacaba Beach

Beaches are always perfect places for a date or to surprise your partner, especially during quieter times. Though Málaga has many beaches, Sacaba is ideal as away from the overly touristy areas.

In 1993, a chimney at this beach was painted with the word “Mónica” by a boy trying to make up with his girlfriend. After some facade restoration work, the painting was removed. Since then, this beach has become a romantic landmark.

Catamaran Ride

Catamaran rides have become very popular among couples looking for a different kind of plan. Watching the sunset from this small boat is the perfect moment to take some ideal photos with your life partner.

Most are located at Muelle Uno and are very affordable (15 euros). Some services include a glass of cava. Keep in mind the journey takes about an hour and a half, allowing you to plan something more than just a boat ride, like giving your partner a gift, or even proposing.

Touring the Province of Málaga

Málaga has countless municipalities that are truly wonderful for enjoying a romantic plan with your partner. We’ve chosen the most visited ones.

First, the Peña de los Enamorados in Antequera is a must-visit for anyone looking to spend a different day. It’s a place with a magical touch, as legend has it that a Christian and a Muslim jumped from its heights to avoid being separated because of their forbidden love.

Next, the Caminito del Rey is another popular spot in the province of Málaga; it’s located in the municipality of Ardales. This trail is nestled in a protected natural environment and high above ground level, built hundreds of meters up but on a wooden walkway. A real adventure!
