When is the April Fair in Seville?
The dates may vary from one year to another. In general, the April Fair of Seville is celebrated every year in April, specifically, two weeks after Easter.
This year 2025, the Fair will start next year. Tuesday, May 6 at 00:00 hours and will end on Sunday, May 11. Will end with an emotional fireworks display.
Just before the inauguration, the legendary “pescaito dinner” will be held on Tuesday, May 6, to inaugurate the festival.
A day later, the traditional “Sunday of hangover” takes place, when the Feria ends with the last bullfight.
Where is the April Fair in Seville?
The heart of the celebration is in the Gran Recinto Ferial, better known as the Real de la Feria de Sevilla.
It is characterized by being an enclosure prepared for the occasion. Streets full of booths adorned with colorful lanterns that are responsible for giving color and light, constantly toured by riders on horseback and traditional buggies, in which the Sevillian costumes, music and the smell of “pescaito frito” are classic elements.

The fairgrounds of the Feria are located in the Sevillian neighborhood of Los Remedios, specifically in Joselito el Gallo street. It is slightly away from the center, and is perfectly communicated, being able to get there quickly and comfortably by metro, bus, cab or private car. The night of the “alumbrao”, the most special moment of the Fair.
The “noche del alumbrao” is the one that is responsible for officially inaugurating the April Fair in Seville. The lighting of the monumental front that gives entrance to the enclosure with thousands of bulbs occurs at 00:00 hours of the inaugural Sunday, and from that moment, the booths are opened.
For Sevillians, the night of the alumbrao is as important as New Year’s Eve, and tradition dictates that this night marks the beginning of a new year.

The typical dress of the Seville Fair is the flamenco dress, also known as “gypsy dress”. It is the most international costume of our country, known all over the world, and is extolled as the indispensable attire for women who will visit the Fair.

Although the exact number is still unknown, in 2023 the Seville Fair had a total of 1053 booths, between public and private. Casetas spread over 15 streets named after historical bullfighters.
