You can book your locker for a full day or just a few hours depending on the duration of your trip.  <\/p>\n<h2>What is the Albufera Natural Park?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Albufera Natural Park is one of the city&#8217;s symbols<\/strong> due to its importance in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a lagoon located along the coast and surrounded by rice fields, dunes, forests, and sea. It is considered <g id=\"gid_0\">one of Europe&#8217;s most important wetlands<\/g> due to its unique ecosystem, home to hundreds of bird species, some of them endangered. Additionally, it covers an area of more than 21,000 hectares.  <\/p>\n<p>La Albufera is vast, tranquil, and has a magical atmosphere. For this reason, it was declared a Natural Park in 1986 and is also included in the Ramsar Convention on wetlands of international importance. <\/p>\n<h2>How to get there from Valencia<\/h2>\n<p>Taking an <strong>excursion to La Albufera<\/strong> is very easy because you can visit by any mode of transport: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you prefer to go by <strong>car<\/strong>, from the centre of Valencia take the CV-500. In just 20 minutes you will arrive in El Palmar, the heart of La Albufera. <\/li>\n<li>The <strong>bus<\/strong> is ideal if you don&#8217;t want to worry about parking. Take EMT line 25 at Porta de la Mar (the closest to the centre). There are various stops to reach the park: El Palmar, El Perellonet, etc. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emtvalencia.es\/ciudadano\/index.php?lang=en\"><strong>EMT urban bus website<\/strong><\/a> to plan your journey based on timetables and routes.   <\/li>\n<li>Going to the park by <strong>bicycle<\/strong> is increasingly popular due to the numerous bike lanes and natural trails from Valencia. Furthermore, they are ideal for both adults and children. <\/p>\n<h3>Traditional boat ride<\/h3>\n<p>This is one of the most authentic and recommended activities. For this boat ride, traditional <strong>fishing boats<\/strong> called albuferencs are used; it&#8217;s an authentic journey to the past due to their characteristic design. The ride consists of calmly touring the canals and lagoon. To rent one, head to the piers located at El Palmar or at the Rac\u00f3 de l&#8217;Olla Interpretation Centre.   <\/p>\n<p>At <strong>LOCK &amp; enjoy!<\/strong>, we recommend doing the <strong>ride at sunset<\/strong>. We are sure you won&#8217;t forget the image of the sun tinting the water orange, along with flocks of birds flying around the area. <\/p>\n<h3>El Palmar<\/h3>\n<p>This is a <strong>small village located within the park<\/strong>; it&#8217;s the heart and soul of La Albufera. Many families who have traditionally worked in fishing and rice cultivation (a very characteristic Valencian product) live here. <\/p>\n<p>Take a stroll through its quiet streets and enter its souvenir shops and local product stores. Moreover, it&#8217;s the perfect place to sample local gastronomy. <\/p>\n<h3>Birdwatching<\/h3>\n<p>Nature around Valencia is very rich, especially at La Albufera, as it&#8217;s a favourite spot for birdwatchers. The best seasons to observe local birds are spring and autumn, as they stop at the lagoon during their migratory process. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The most common birds are flamingos, herons, ospreys, and coots.<\/strong>  To see them, visit Rac\u00f3 de l&#8217;Olla with good binoculars and have patience.<\/p>\n<h3>Hiking and cycling routes<\/h3>\n<p>In the park itself, there are several hiking and cycling routes that allow you to <strong>explore its ecosystem<\/strong> (dunes, pine forests, lagoons, rice fields, etc.) in much greater detail. Several routes are well-marked, but the prettiest and most peaceful is the one from El Palmar to El Saler. <\/p>\n<h2>What to eat at La Albufera<\/h2>\n<p>You can&#8217;t leave the area without trying its most emblematic dish: <strong>the authentic Valencian paella<\/strong>. At local restaurants, you won&#8217;t find creative versions or ingredients outside the original recipe, as they exclusively serve traditional paellas. <\/p>\n<p>We recommend Casa Angel, famous for its menus that include a boat ride. On the other hand, restaurant <g id=\"gid_0\"><g id=\"gid_1\">Bon Aire<\/g><\/g> has been awarded for its excellent paella.
